By allowing your pond to completely freeze over during the winter months, the harmful gasses caused by plant decay and fish waste cannot escape the ice. This can be deadly to your fish and plants. The Farm Innovators submergible pond de-icer will maintain a small vent hole in the ice to allow these harmful gasses to escape. It is thermostatically controlled to work automatically and is fish and plant-friendly. The de-icer can be used in all types of ponds and works best is ponds from 300-600 gallons.
