Airmax KnockDown Defense 2-in-1 Algae and Weed Control works fast and provides longer-lasting control than most contact products. This herbicide is effective on even the toughest invasive weeds and algae. Great for floating algae, watermeal, duckweed, watermilfoil, fanwort, hydrilla, and more.
Airmax KnockDown Defense contains the same active ingredient as Clipper and Propeller. However, it is a liquid formulation for easy measuring, mixing, and application. Treatment is very versatile and breaks down quickly in the water, leaving no accumulation in the sediment.
How to Apply
Mix Airmax KnockDown Defense and Treatment Booster Plus (if using) with water in a tank sprayer according to label instructions. Spray onto floating weeds and algae or place the tip beneath the water's surface. Over time, the weeds will begin to brown and die. Once completely dead, use a rake to remove dead weeds to prevent an accumulation of dead plant material and muck.
We recommend adding water to your tank sprayer first, then adding Airmax KnockDown Defense. Once the water and Airmax KnockDown Defense have been mixed, gently shake the sprayer to allow for complete mixing. Mix only the spray solution that can be applied on the day of mixing. Apply Airmax KnockDown Defense within 12 hours of mixing.
When to Apply
Airmax KnockDown Defense has no temperature restriction, but it should only be applied when weeds are actively growing. In areas with dense weed vegetation, only treat 1/2 of the waterbody at one time and wait 10-14 days before treating the remaining area, lowering the risk of fish loss during hot weather. Refrain from re-treating the same section of water within 28 days of application.
Airmax KnockDown Defense is most effective when applied to young, actively growing weeds in water with a pH of less than 8.5.
Treatments made after September may be less effective depending on water temperatures and weed growth. Occasionally, a second application is necessary if heavy regrowth occurs or weeds reinfest from untreated areas.
Restrictions
- Wait 5 days before using treated water for irrigation.
- Do not use water utilized for crawfish farming.
- Refrain from re-treating the same section of water within 28 days of application.
