How to Apply EasyKlear
Evenly broadcast ready-to-use granular in the area to be treated using a granular spreader.
For total pond treatments, spread evenly around the pond's perimeter directly from shore.
Total Pond Treatments (avg. depth of 4'):
• Planktonic or Filamentous Algae = 15 lb per 1/4 surface acre
• Submerged Weeds and Chara = 30 lb per 1/4 surface acre
For spot treatments, spread directly on weed and/or algae beds from shore or boat.
Spot Treatments (avg. pond depth of 3'):
• Filamentous Algae = 2 lb per 1,000 sq ft
• Chara and Submerged Weeds = 10 lb per 1,000 sq ft.
When to Apply EasyKlear
Airmax EasyKlear Defense 2-In-1 Algae and Weed Control should be applied when algae and weeds are actively growing. Begin applications when algae and weeds first appear.
Unless steps are taken to reduce the overall nutrients in the pond, multiple applications may be needed for full-season algae and weed control.
If you're looking to reduce your pond's nutrient load, learn more about phosphate control. EcoBoost PRx binds phosphates quickly, safely, and effectively making them unusable, helping to prevent future water quality issues.
Chemical Application Best Practices
Anytime you use chemicals to treat algae or weeds, please keep in mind the following:
- Treat your pond in sections. Treat only half the pond's surface at a time. During hot weather or when treating heavy growth, it is important to treat no more than 1/4 of your pond at a time and wait the full 14 days before re-applying. This helps lower the risk of fish loss during hot weather or when treating heavy growth.
- Once the algae or weeds have browned & died, use a rake to remove as much dead material as possible. This prevents an accumulation of dead plant material and muck.
- Take a proactive approach to pond management. Use EcoBoost PRx, PondClear, MuckAway, and Pond Dye to keep your pond looking great.
