Product Details
Kill the roots of even the most persistent emergent aquatic weeds & grasses. Airmax Shoreline Defense Emergent Weed Control is great for controlling cattails or any other plant growing above or out of the water. Apply directly to the foliage, allowing it to be absorbed by the weed, killing the roots for long term control. Shoreline Defense Emergent Weed Control is not to be used for submerged weeds. This pond and lake weed control product is perfect for beaches, shorelines or anywhere emergent weeds grow. 32 fl oz treats up to 10,000 sq ft. Use with Treatment Booster Plus for the best results.
How to Apply
Mix the amount of Shoreline Defense Emergent Weed Control and Treatment Booster Plus (if using) with pond water in a tank sprayer according to label instructions. Spray only on foliage above the water's surface on a calm day to keep targeted sprayed areas contained. Completely wet foliage for best results. Over time, the weeds will begin to brown and die. Once completely dead, use a rake to remove dead weeds to prevent an accumulation of dead plant material and muck.
When to Use
Shoreline Defense Emergent Weed Control has no temperature restriction, but it should only be applied when weeds are actively growing. Use with Treatment Booster Plus for best results.
Restrictions
Shoreline Defense Emergent Weed Control does not have any water use restrictions.
Chemical Application Best Practices
Anytime you use chemicals to treat algae or weeds with Shoreline Defense Emergent Weed Control, please keep in mind the following:
- Treat your pond in sections. Treat only half the pond's surface at a time. During hot weather or when treating heavy growth, it is important to treat no more than 1/4 of your pond at a time and wait the full 14 days before re-applying. This helps lower the risk of fish loss during hot weather or when treating heavy growth.
- Once the algae or weeds have browned & died, use a rake to remove as much dead material as possible. This prevents an accumulation of dead plant material and muck.
- Take a proactive approach to pond management. Use EcoBoost PRx, PondClear, MuckAway and Pond Dye to keep your pond looking great.
